Opinions on BIOSTAR iDEQ 330N?

Wed Dec 21, 2005 9:18 pm

Looks like this is a brand new offering. Here is a review: http://www.nforcershq.com/article4068.html

Can anybody give me any comments on the chipset and anything else about this system? Thanks.

I've just bought one!!

I think it's very beautiful.

I bought one and installed it on my house this saturday. I had no problems installing all the components (even considering it was the first time I built a computer). It's a bit noisy, but it works like a champ.

In the next weeks I'll try to overclock the Athlon64 3200+ that I paired with the computer.

Sorry about my grammar. I'm from Spain.

Welcome IYagami. Nothing wrong with your grammar: it's better than some of the native English speakers around here. You even got your apostrophes in the right places. Bravo! (or Ole!)

That's an interesting looking box for an HTPC setup. Does the noise mostly come from the power supply fan?

I don't think so. I've noticed that when the computer starts it gets very noisy, but when Cool'n Quiet gets in (the speed drops to 1Ghz, I think), there is a lot of less noise. So I'm thinking that the main noise comes from the processor fan.

I've bought a boxed Athon64. I think that if in the next 2-3 weeks I find it annoying, I'll replace the processor fan provided by BIostar with the one included in the processor box. Then I'll be able to tell you for real if the problem is in the case or in the processor fan.

Perhaps you can tell me how can I know if the noise comes from the processor fan or the case fan... The processor fan lies in the front of the case, while the case fan are on the rear.

And thanks for your comment!

I don't see it available yet (even the egg) here. If it is here at least I will think about it instead of going μATX.
