making a grill

Mon Mar 17, 2003 11:34 pm

anyone ever done this? any tips? I don't wanna have to pay $1.25 for a grill, then pay $6 shipping or whatever.

I have think aluminum wire, I have basicly a large assortment of plastics.

it's a 90mm antec fan my friend gave me, I cut a hole in the top of my case to get rid of the hot-air pocket, and the heat's gone, but now I have an open hole.

how about drilling 1/8" holes in some sort of aethstecally(sp?) pleasing pattern in the plastic you have and affix it to the inside of the case using many more screws than nessasary for the task.

leave the screws less than flush with the case to give you room to wrap wire around them. maybe even use screws with a nice head on them like a bolt type screw. then use the wire to stretch from screw to screw on top of the case to give yourself a grill. will probably look like some sort of etch-a-scetch pattern when your done.
maybe backlight it or put a small ( depending on your exhaust hole size ) 25mm fan blowing out?

just an idea.........i think thats what you had in mind, n'est pas?

What size do you need, I have several laying around here and I will send you one, and you just have to pay shipping. PM me and let me know.
