LJA's UT2004 server

Fri Apr 27, 2007 7:12 am

My UT2004 server will be available occasionally. When running, you can access it at ut2004://lja.servergame.com:7777.

Also, you can search for my server in the UT2004 server browser under the name "The Stone Wall".

"Server" and connection specs

BTW, PerfectCr and Krogoth, I believe that you will find that your admin rights are intact on the server. Let me know if you have any trouble logging on.

I'll sticky this in place of the old thread.

You should try http://www.no-ip.com/ to avoid the nuisance of dynamic IP addresses.

registration is for free although, there are some limits on what domain names you can use.

Just register whatever domain name, download the application and then run it as a service. ;)

How do I use admin without the interface? I always used the web based admin. I don't know how to in game.

here is the link, for web-base admin just plug-in your username and password. ;)

I can play tonight if you'd all like. I gave up on all my MMOs and I've only been playing FEAR lightly lately. BF2142 is kinda fun, and titan quest I really enjoy.

I'll be there, probably around 9-ish CDT.

Btw, Krogoth and his brother hopped on last night, and their pings were running anywhere from high 60s to low 80s. Considering that they are in the Pittsburgh area and I'm in the Dallas area, I thought that was pretty good. Oh, and Krogoth was hosting a Ventrilo server for us, on top of that.

All that said, perhaps we can handle several players at a decent ping rate. It would be interesting to find out.

For anyone's reference, any TR user that wants a redirect can have anything.frags.us. I can even give you a clickable/bookmarkable link you can use to remotely update the redirect.

lja.frags.us?

ut2k4.frags.us?
Please don't edit my signature for me. Thanks.

That's a nice offer. When I get through with my busy season at work, I'd like to chat with you about this.

Btw, I've set up the server as "private" by default, since it uses my family's internet access bandwidth.

Admins, you can set it back to "public" status for a while by clicking the "Advertise Server" checkbox under the Default, Server menu, then restarting the map.

Please make sure to unclick that checkbox (and restart the map) when you are through playing.

LOL @ punching Ali in the junk

I wasn't very good when I played 2-3 times a week. Now, with a year+ of rust? I bet I'll be teh sux0rs. And I'm still gonna be clueless at most of the assault maps.

Does LJA have a redirect? Or am i gonna need to go find the maps? Cuz this is gonna be a fresh install with like, nothing on it.

If you check the first page in the official ut2k4 thread, I believe most of the maps we play can be downloaded there. The redirect I think was a feature of our service provided by our host so I'm not sure we have one. I'd download as much as you can ahead of time because his connection surely won't be as decent.

I use the free public redirect at Gameservers.net (NOT to be confused with Gameservers.com).

You should note that my server is not an exact copy of our former UT2K4 server, and I haven't checked it for file compatibility with the redirect.
