I have two Shuttles sitting here. I told a friend I would build one for him, the other goes to my wife. Here's the rub....she has been using the older one for a while, and it's all set up for her (docs, shortcuts, and spyware included). If I give me buddy her Shuttle, and give her the newer one, it means reformatting and reinstalling some stuff. If I leave her with the one she has, and give my buddy the newer Shuttle, it saves me time....
On the other hand...30GB < 200GB, and PCIE capability is nice, since I could throw my 6800GTS into the SB when I upgrade someday.
What do you guys think? Is there a big enough difference between the two to justify swapping the files and settings, or should I keep what I have and hand off the Intel based Shuttle?
What my wife has been using...
<a href="http://global.shuttle.com/Product/Barebone/SN95G5%20v3.asp">Shuttle SN95G5</a>
AMD 3700 San Diego
Graphics: AGP GForce FX 5200 (128MB)
30GB Hdd
2x1GB Ram *same
DVD R/W *same
The new one I just built...
<a href="http://global.shuttle.com/Product/Barebone/SB81P.asp">Shuttle SB81P</a>
Intel LGA775 650
Graphics: On-board (Intel GMA900)
200GB Hdd
2x1GB Ram *same
DVD R/W *same
Which to keep at home and which to give away?
edit: added "Graphics" because the card vs. on-board might be a factor worth considering.
