Randy Moss is a typical petulant child. As long as things go his way he'll be a good boy and a hell of a reciever. And if the Pats win the Super Bowl he's got as good a chance as anyone.

Technically, yes, but more than likely it would be Brady getting it since he would also be the one throwing the ball to Moss, and QB's lead WR's 21 to 5 in mvp awards, and couple that with Bradys only having got one MVP out of the 3 pats wins, and he would probably have some momentum, and Moss probably still has some folks ticked in Raider nation and minnesota.

Of course Moss could rip off a 4TD 10 catch 300 yard day and be undeniable....

Lynn Swann won MVP after being knocked out of the previous game with a concussion (2 days in hospital) and only caught 4 passes. 161 yards and one TD. That particular year, he caught 49 passes for 781 yards and had 11 TD's which led the NFL... Real football in them days... not the damn beauty contest divarama BS we are stuck with now.

Jerry Rice MVP numbers 11, 215, 1TD 5 rush yards.

FRED BILETNIKOFF 4 passes caught 79 yards.

Deion Branch 11, 133yds

Hines Ward, 5 Passes, 123yds, 1 TD, 18 rush yards.

More likely Moss will get injured running up the score on some cupcake between now and the SB, and then Brady will get pancaked repeatedly till his shoulder seperates (because without Moss the deep threat will be diminished and 8 or 9 will be in the box) by 3 inches and the patriots will get demolished in the playoffs. Its just a matter of time till somebody gets their fill of 1 yard TD dives with a 21 point lead under two minutes. Remember how Charles Martin ended Jim McMahon's career?.... if you piss enough people off...

I understand your point, but these people do have to be able to function once their career is over.

I'll now proceed to get off your lawn.

Now, back to the main topic, anyone can be MVP if they are decided to be the most valuable player of said game.

Also, don't you find it a bit ridiculous to already be talking about a player being MVP in the Super Bowl at week 8? Does this mean we can all start threads naming random players having good years as possible Super Bowl MVP's? Jeez.

Geez climb off Manning for a sec.

I just found it interesting after reading something on ESPN that one of the most controversial characters in the NFL just a short while back is now on track to gain the highest honor.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerrank ... 007&week=8

Randy Moss has been able to do in seven games what no Patriots receiver has done in the past 20 years -- catch 10 touchdown passes in a season. And Wes Welker and Benjamin Watson also are on pace for 10-TD seasons.

Who knows a bunch of top level players could get busted for smoking cat litter tomorrow and the Lions are in. It's just a fun thread discussing what looks like a very real possibility.

I've said nothing of Peyton. He arguably shouldn't have been the MVP of the last Super Bowl. Since you bring it up though, myself being a Colts fan, I love the attention the Patriots are getting. I hope they go undefeated during the regular season. Hell, they can beat the Colts in two weeks, I just hope it's the Colts that get to beat them in the playoffs, because if the Colts don't do it, we'll have to listen to more New Englanders rant about how the Colts couldn't beat them and that the Pats were clearly the better team.

If the Patriots win the Super Bowl, my hat goes off to them, they're playing incredible football.

Eh, I'm only a Brady fan because he went to Michigan. I'm also happy about how well Braylon Edwards and several others are doing.

Although it's hard to ignore just how dominating NE is this year.

Truth be told I would like to see a different (and underdog) team win every year.

I was really pulling for New Orleans last year that would have been awesome.

I'm only a Brady fan because he was on my Keeper team this year and last, and my wife has him on my family league. My brother-in-law took Peyton with 5th pick in that draft, and regrets it at this point.

Watching the Patriots play is a good time. It's fun watching them with my wife as we both root for the former Michigan QB. At this point, doesn't it seem likely some serious records are going to be set by Brady and crew this year? How can that not be an exciting thing to witness?

Did I mention I also have Randy Moss on the keeper team? :o

GO PATRIOTS! :D

I personally think that Brady would get the MVP over Moss in the Superbowl, if they win it.

Well, we know it won't be Vick or Pacman. :P

There's too much of the season left to tell who'll be MVP. A lot can happen before it's over.

I will say that the top 3 teams this year are the Pats, then the Colts, then the Chargers, the NFC is more or less a joke, and the all-time best team was the '75-'79 Steelers.

You all can wring your hands and knash your teeth - but you know I'm right.

I'm shocked - shocked - to learn of the esteemed journalists at ESPN performing premature oral gratification on a New England sport figure.

I think the Chargers still have something to prove before they could be ranked third, beating the Colts in a few weeks would definitely move them up.

He only got one? Seems to me that isn't the case.
