ASUS P5B-Plus is a good choice, imo.

This is the board that I currently own. 975X based though, so it's supposedly not as a good overclocker as the P965 boards (such as above).

Are we talking 2006 or 2007? P965 boards? :P

I recommend the P35 chipset boards, Asus P5K, and P5K-E, Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L, GA-P35-DS3P and GA-P35-DS3R are all good ones to look at.
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

Gigabyte all the way! :P In all seriousness, you really can't go wrong with those Gigabyte boards that Flying Fox suggested above, plus they're all within your stated budget.

You might want to check this out. Support 45nm tech CPU, so you can upgrade later if you want to . :)

Rate is between $104 to 143

Hope this helps :)

I'd say that ASUS is a excellent brand and they make excellent motherboards for either side.

and Intel processors are fine with Intel mobos only

Well, certainly if you're not into overclocking or anything like that, a "plain" motherboard without any extras will do just fine. The other mobo makers are, in my opinion, better at giving you those extra features like RAID, 5.1 sound, better overclocking, solid state capacitors, etc.

So, yeah, Intel motherboards are just dandy in my book. ASUS, Gigabyte, etc. are fantastic mobo makers as well and are just as good as Intel's boards.

Of course you realize that Intel is the creator of the reference designs that the other manufacturers (ASUS, Gigabyte, etc.) base their designs off. Intel also is a manufacturer of their own motherboards.

I'm sure I'm screwing up this explanation... oh well 8)
