8800GT + HTPC/SFF

Sun Nov 04, 2007 3:39 am

How can I tell if the 8800GT will fit in a case I'm looking at.

From what i can tell, it's 9 inches long, and not that thick.

I'm looking at some thin ones, the DVD player looking ones, but I bet no graphics card can fit in there.

And what do you think about crysis on a HTPC/SFF? It shouldn't matter right? I can just mod it and put some 120mm fans in it?

thanks for the help guys.

Read reviews of cases. If they say that a double-slot cooler won't fit, you probably don't want to try the 8800gt for heat-exhaustion reasons.

I think the OP was also concerned with the length of the card. Unless we are talking about those SilverStone SG* cases sometimes those SFF cases may be too cramped for such a long card.

yeah, over heating shouldn't be a problem. just stick in more fans right? (hopefully) anyways having it fit would be the first issue.

After a day of searching. The Antec NSK4480 looks pretty good. In the september system build they suggested the 8600GT. That's 7 inches right? Does anyone know if it can take the extra 2 inches of an 8800GT?

Yeah, you got to watch those sizes. I got a 8600GT Slient, I thought it was single slot but the website selling listed the details incorrectly.
