Memory question for nForce2 IGP

Wed Jun 18, 2003 11:38 am

Hello everybody. This is my first post.

I am purchasing a Shuttle SN41G2 and I have some questions about RAM. I went to the nVidia nForce2 memory compatibilty page and it seems very few modules are certified to work with the IGP chip. Does anyone know why this is?

Also, how useful are these memory compatibility pages? Do well-respected companies like Corsair or Crucial not bother to submit their modules for testing because they are assumed to work or don't need the advertising?

Basically, I need help determining which RAM to purchase for it (stability is my main concern).

The nForce2 is not too picky about memory. Any good quality stuff should work fine.

Thanks for the quick response. Are speaking for both versions of the nForce2 chip: IGP and SPP?

Check out this link: http://www.nvidia.com/content/nForceMem ... bility.asp

Do you know why so many fail the compatibility testing for the IGP?

I've actually never seen that page before and it seems kind of strange that some memory is compatible with the spp but not the igp. But then again I haven't heard of too many people having memory problems with the SN41G2 so I wouldn't be too worried.

Great, thanks! I hope I don't get addicted to these forums.
