I was discussing this with some guys during hockey this morning.

Should Eric Lindros get in to the HoF on his first ballot?

Myself, I say no. He never showed the heart to play through any adversity. Hell he started out in the NHL by holding out because he didn't want to play for the Quebec Nordiques. In my books that shows you what character he has. He plays for himself, and offers little to the game. Sure he was a half-decent player.....when he played, but after a few bumps along the way he fizzled into nothingness mighty quickly.

He is now trying to get into the legal end of it by getting into the union rep side of the NHL.

So what say you hockey fans of TR.......yea or nay for the big E?

I think his brother Brett did more to the game than him, at least he's being a nice ambassador to the game by hosting some TV shows.

I'm also not sure if his numbers are that impressive, though I'm not following hockey that close to know.

First try definitely a "no", but who knows, you wait long enough you will be in front of the queue anyway.

I would say no, but would leave out the no heart bit. I think he had heart for the game.

Not by any measure. He made a living playing the game, that was it. He acted like everyone else should meet his every demand and that he was the ****. He was decent for a brief stretch, and then we all saw how badly he played for years. No HOF, NOT YOURS.

Lindros' career stats.........meh at best.

Eric Lindros was as soft as a comfy pillow. He was brittle to the extreme and even healthy he was merely above average. So no way in hell does he belong in the HoF. Maybe they should put the trade from Quebec/Colorado to Philly in the Trade Ripoff Hall of Fame though - the Avs used the proceeds of that trades to build a dynasty.

I wouldn't call it a dynasty, most of the players they gained are now gone. And they haven't been a big factor. 2 cups in 5 years doesn't quite cut it. Granted it did allow them to become a factor in a hurry and a major player for several years.

As for Lindros, when you watched a guy like Yzerman for his entire career. You know what a hall of fame player is. Lindros had loads of talent, but he never did anything major with it. Even his best season weren't memorable.

You shouldn't make the HoF if the only thing people remember about your career is that you couldn't score.......or take a hit without getting concussed.

I'm a Blackhawks fan. From my perspective, it was a dynasty. From my perspective, Tampa Bay was a dynasty.

Well I guess you got a point there. Coming from the fact that Detroit has been divisional champ like some 15 years in a row now (I know I am close but I could be off). Playoff appearences 17 years in a row. 4 Stanley cup finals, 3 cups. Well I guess I am spoiled.

I wouldn't go that far. But it looks good. Personally a few key injuries is what did us in against Anahiem last season. Ottawa didn't stand a chance against either team.

Your forgetting Schneider breaking his arm at the end of the Sharks series.

That was two of our top 4 defensemen not availible for the Ducks.

The sharks wouldn't have even been a series if kronwall was in. Schnieder left and I think Rafalski is a better all around player for sure. I'm so excited for this year. We have a grind line, finesse, speed, GOALTENDING AND A BACKUP, just the total package and it's showing.

Is Probert in yet?

I have to say no. He had potential but he just never broke through into that upper echelon of players.

And if anyone remembers he had something like 3 concussions in one season with the Flyers
