NFL Conference Championship Thread/Predictions

Fri Jan 18, 2008 11:12 am

San Diego at New England - San Diego could surely surprise me, but I think New England isn't going to have a bad day like the Colts did. New England against a fifth seed at home, I'll take New England. *shudder*

New York at Green Bay - This will probably be the best game of the day. New York is on a roll and Green Bay just demolished Seattle. I have to give a slight edge to Green Bay for having home field, and an experienced Brett Farve.

As long as Farve does not run of to nail Jessica Simpson, GB by 72 points.

As long as Brady and Moss don't run off with each other, NE buy 142 points.

Like everyone else in the country, I am rooting for LaDainian Tomlinson and the Chargers to knock off the evil Patriots this weekend.

Farve really blew that one.

...and can anyone figure out how Plaxico can dive, catch the ball, and be exactly 1inch inbounds before falling to the ground?

WTF Green Bay. At home. Come on.

Although it seems the same bribe for the officials covers both Mannings.

Was it me, or was that NFC trophy presentation the most ghetto and lame thing I've ever seen?

I like how you go from blaming Green Bay to blaming the officials. Never once giving the Giants any credit. I think they have won a NFL-record 10 straight on the road. One thing is for certain, you can thank the Chargers for yesterdays win by the Patriots. Tommy wasn't lookin too good there.

One team peaks, while the other falters. Should be a good Super Bowl.

Actually the Giants played a pretty good game.
My take on why Green Bay lost.
While ultimately the Favre interception was the ball game, it's not why they lost.
They lost because Harris couldn't cover Burris.
They lost because the Giants shut down the running game.
They lost because Manning flat-out outplayed Favre. He made the passes when he had to. Favre did not.
In the over time period, all Favre has to is get within field goal range. he couldn't do it.
They lost because the Giants defense was up to the task, Green Bay's was not.
Case in point.
3rd quarter. Giants have the ball. 3rd and 9. Negated interception/pass interference. 1st down Giants.
3rd and 5. Roughing the passer. 15 yards. 1st down. Giants go on to score touch down take the lead.

I've yelled that at the TV quite a few times over the course of college football and NFL this season.

So I'm not the only one who tries to coach through the TV?
