Watching HD movies...

Sun May 04, 2008 3:54 pm

Could someone please explain what the HD decoder in the new graphics lineup does? I used to have a 7900GT and 1080 movies used to stutter all the time.
So I bought a 8800GTS 512 thinking that it'll fix this, but HD movies still utilize one cpu core to near %100 and it still stutters. I watch quicktime clips and .mkv movies.

Thanks for the help.

What h264 decoder are you currently using? CoreAVC works pretty well.
