Need to pick a digital drawing tablet

Mon Jun 09, 2008 9:07 am

Hey all,

I've got a professional artist friend whose birthday is coming up and his wife and I wanted to go in together on a digital drawing board/tablet. But I need a bit of advice on quality. Anyone here use one? I've seen Adesso, Wacom, and Genius brands so far online. Looks like Wacom is the most expensive, and I assume highest quality.

Anyone have a digital drawing pad out there?

Thanks!

I believe that Wacom is pretty much the industry standard, so you can't really go wrong with that. How much are you looking to spend?

I've heard these are quite good, albeit expensive.

Wacom, wacom, wacom. Even their cheapest is pretty good. Personally i use an Intous which is one step up. Although the new entry level is as good as the former intous. But there isnt much else that really gives you usability in the same way. Sure, other brand may be dirt cheap, and thus value for the money, but most of the knock-offs are really just about unsuable once you get going and want it to just do its job.
