Why CRTs are better than LCDs:

LCDs are just too darn small. There's no way you could fit a cat on one. Well, comfortably at least. :P

That's a whole new perspective for looking at the matter.

That's it. I'm sold. Now I just have to figure out where to buy one...

I lost a 19" CRT from above... that was one unfortunate hairball.

I checked an antique store, and the only one they had was behind the register. And they wouldn't even sell it!
I think maybe people are hoarding them. :)

We have a cat and it has been trained to stay the hell off stuff. She does most of the time because she knows if I catch her she is going to bounce off a wall and go flying outside.

I still have my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 14" running from time to time (when I need to quickly set up a workbench). It is still good running at an "overclocked" 1024x768@70Hz (spec'ed is supposed to be 60Hz)!

So yeah, I guess I am hoarding one. ;)

If a cat was anywhere near my pc  it would soon be feeling the full brunt of the dark side.

My cat still hasn't figured out how to lay on top of my monitor. Of all the other things she jumps onto, the monitor isn't one of them. I would prefer she jumped on top of the monitor instead of the fish tanks...or the bookshelf...or the kitchen counter...or the ironing board...

I think I still have one or two 17"CRT's kicking around somewhere.

Although I did see some sitting out on the curb the other day...

I've thrown out a bunch of CRTs recently; they were broken. I salvaged what I could from the inside for electronics projects.

Maybe someone could build a cat rest for LCD monitors.

I have two 17s and my beloved Hitachi CM-751 19" still doing duty.

My Hitachi does 1080p. That's why it's on the VGA out of my X360. Until I can finally afford a 24+ inch 1920*1200 beauty, at which point my 360 will join me in the computer room, and I'll pick up a second used to put in the living room.
Please don't edit my signature for me. Thanks.

My cat likes the cold, not the hot. Bathtub is his favorite spot along with air conditioned rooms with hardwood floors.

Yes, studies have shown that the mere presence of a cat can cause PCs to explode in the blink of an eye.

It's not so much fear for my pc's safety as a irrational dislike of cats stemming from severe alergies when I was younger. I can tolerate them but don't really appreciate cat hair all over my stuff. Emotional attachment to animals is not my forte.
