rttnews wrote:Wednesday, graphics chipmaker Nvidia Corp. lowered its second quarter revenue outlook, citing end-market weakness, delayed ramp of a next generation MCP, and price adjustments of GPU products due to competitiveness. Nvidia also expects to incur a one-time charge in the second quarter related to expenses from a weak die/packaging material set used in certain versions of its previous generation products for notebook systems. Following the news, the company's shares fell by more than 19% in the after-hours trading.
For the second quarter, the company now expects revenue in the range of $875 million to $950 million. On average, twenty-five analysts polled by First Call/Thomson Financial expect revenue of $1.10 billion for the second quarter.
