Keeper League protected rosters/pre-draft thread

This is where we will discuss the pre-draft and deadlines for submitting protected rosters

1st of all, it seemed to me like last year's pre-draft worked pretty well so I think we'll go with the same thing this year. Can keep up to 3, but if you choose you can keep less and take the compensation picks in the pre-draft.

So, lets talk deadlines. The main draft is August 27th. I'd like to start the pre-draft on August 15th, just to make sure we get it done. However, if someone has a strenuous objection to starting it that early, speak up - I'm not married to the idea. I think we can have the protected rosters due a couple days ahead of the predraft (maybe August 13th) to give people a chance to prepare.

What say you?

What will be the order of the pre-draft?

If people aren't going to keep 3, that needs to be mentioned before the pre-draft begins, so others know those players are fair game to those also not keeping three for the pre-draft, right?

I wanna keep 5 players dammit! :x :wink: (Brady, Moss, T.O, Barber, and Jackson) all in the top 12 or so overall on the big boards. :D Which 3 do I keep *sigh*

How about pre-draft trades? 8)

Actually, IIRC from last year, the pre-draft wasn't a snake. So I'll just be screwing you. :D

Although I guess it'll be the same order in the regular draft... Fun times! Weren't we close in drafting order last year as well?

I'm pretty sure I've got my keepers set. Still on the fence about one of them, but I'll definitely be making at least pne pre-draft pick.

So, I'm looking to trade for a quality RB. Possible trades could be made for one or more of Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin, Marques Colston, Tony Romo, or anyone else on my championship winning roster, depending on the offer, of course.

Looking back, that seemed to be the time frames that we did before. I second the motion.

Ooof. That memory stings. Badly. :cry: I really did think that one was all mine.

2006 keeper year: 5th place (towards the bottom most of the year)
2007 keeper year: 3rd place (after being #1 all year)
2008 keeper year: ?????

Yes, I think I'm due for a keeper championship this year :wink:

Stiffie, those time frame look fine to me. I already listed my keepers anyway.
I forgot, after the pre-draft, will the regular live draft (starting at round 4) be random order and serpentine?

after the protected rosters are in (tomorrow), I can add them to each team manually so that they don't show up as draftable come draft day.

I'm keeping Kolby Smith, Jason Hanson and the Washington defense*

Yeah, last year it was all taken care of automagically, so I imagine it'll be good this year. Apparently the Football Plus now has some keeper league options, but I don't know what's involved with that.

EDIT: Here's some info on it.
