Notfred Diskless Folding Machine ID?

Wed Jul 23, 2008 2:29 am

Hi guys, have been a reader here for awhile and have been using Notfred's Diskless Folding Suite for some months and it's brilliant - just what I need, something simple to use but very effective. My question is regarding Machine ID's as I like to tweak my system and halt it at times. For some reason I have trouble restarting with a USB stick that has already been run, so I reformat each time and start afresh. This however gives me a new machine ID and the Stanford Stats report a new CPU as being active, so they are inflated figures! Is there a file I should save or something I can do to keep the ID the same, bearing in mind I may have to wipe most stuff from the flash drive, due to my restart conflicts?

Thanks.

Keep an image of the folding folder after you have configured the client (-configonly) and then use that image as the base point for all of your reformats.

Sou might also try searching this forum and the Stanford forum for the keyword "Sneakernet."
