From what Ive been reading about the 2408wfp is that the ghosting issue present on the 2407wfp-hc has all been eliminated. Can anybody confirm this?

I just got one at work it's nice and big and looks good. But not that good. I think my viewsonic here at home looks better, but it is smaller.

The Dell 2408WFP : not good! Except for office use, its look, ergonomics, finishing touches and materials. In short, it’s (still) as superb but totally failed our gaming tests.


I'm going to stick with my previous comments until A01 comes out.

Hey guys I'm trying to find out info on where good and bad panels may be coming from, as far as maybe what factory theyre coming from or whom dell is using as a manufacturer. If any of you have your panel around you while reading this, The last 12 of the serial on the back of the display indicates where/who and when, I'd be happy to help most of ya, I'm looking to purchase this set for a dual set-up, and would like to see if there is anyway to triangulate where the not so great panels are coming from or what batches theyre from. Thanks. the serial layout is like this:
X X - X X X X X X - X X X X X - X X X - X X X X- Just need the last 12 :)

My five minutes with a 2408fpw:

I ordered a 2408wfp last Friday. It arrived yesterday. UPS is coming to pick it up today.

I had pretty much the same experience with it that Cyril had back in April. My 2007fp will now be joined by a second 2007fp instead of the disappointing 2408wfp.

It was a refurbished A00, and correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure they're still shipping A00s.

I bet that A00 got returned because of the same problems. Dell is just trying to pass their loss on to somebody else. Wasn't Cyril saying A01 would be out soon back in April?

When I bought my 2408 it was advertised to be revision A01, yet when I checked about 2 days later the same site had removed that part of the description so I think they haven't released it yet. I was going to complain but I currently have no problems with the monitor so I'm happy enough.

So is it the color, the panel or what that makes this monitor so much more attractive then a $400 Samsung?

If you are talking about the 245B or 2443BW Samsung, then you are talking S-PVA (the Dell) vs TN panels. Also the Dell seems to have in-monitor aspect scaling and the Samsungs for whatever reason don't (the 22" 2253BW does have it, weird).
