The 6-pin PCIe power connector is essentially 2x regular 4-pin molex connectors combined. So as long as your power supply can supply enough amps, you can have all molex connectors and use the adapters instead. Newer units should have at least 2 PCIe connectors these days, so if you do need 4 to power 2 GTX260's, the video cards may even include enough adapters for you.

That being said, what makes you think you need 2x GTX260's? Getting a 30" monitor to play games at 2560x1600? In my experience if you are "unsure", "confused", "thinking about" SLI/CF, you probably don't need it. If you know what you are doing, you will know what you need to do.

I doubt you will need SLI, at least not with this generation of purchase (if ever).

When SLI first came out a few years ago I got bit by the SLI bug a lot like you did. I got an SLI motherboard and a 7800GTX which was a top of the line card at the time. I figured that I would just grab another 7800GTX down the road for a nice performance boost. Well here is the problem by time a single cards performance is lagging you can pick up a midrange card of a newer generation that will out perform two of the older cards in SLI. If you want to measure the size of your wang by getting SLI go ahead but your better off with a single card and upgrading more often IMO.

When one GTX 260 is so good, why do you need two?
