question about the coolermaster rc-690

Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:51 pm

blackinches recently viewed a video about the silverstone fortress case and the virtues of positive pressure. blackinches has included a link here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe-2ZqmSGug

blackinches was wondering if the temperatures would be dramatically lowered in a coolermaster rc-690 if blackinches were to set up the fans in a similar fashion to the silverstone case. blackinches currently does not have any fans on the top mounts of the 690. blackinches currently uses the front and side as an intake and the rear fan as an exhaust. blackinches was wondering if anybody has tried using the top mount fans as an intake.

blackinches appreciates any help.

Coran Fixx has the 690. Coran Fixx uses the front and bottom and one side for intake. Coran Fixx uses the top and back for exhaust. Coran Fixx finds this to lead to good air flow. All Coran Fixx's fans are set to low (120's). Coran Fixx hopes this helps.

blackinches did not even consider using a fan on the bottom intake. blackinches thanks coran fixx for the suggestion. may blackinches what coran fixx's temperatures are like?

crimsonjax suggests caution when using the bottom fan mount the the 690, unless you like dust bunnies living in your case. crimsonjax suggest a filter if you do..

tfp wonders why people care so much about temps in general. tfp thinks temps under 60-65C under load is pretty much fine for the CPU. tfp is using prescott based cpus and knows about heat.

Should have been "blackinches thanks coran fixx for the suggestion". If blackinches is going to talk in 3rd person, blackinches should go all out.
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
