TR March Madness 2009

Tue Mar 03, 2009 2:39 pm

League is set up and ready to go:

[TR] Bricklayers
ID# 20465
PW: damage

This year looks pretty wide-open.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Threepeat my ass . . . . I'm gonna knock you off this year buddy!!!!

I just have to wait till I get home so I can join up. City doesn't allow anything with the word game(s) in to accessed on the net - nothing fantasy sports, or related to gaming in any way . . . .and especially no facebook, myspace, twitter, or ANY social site.

Don't worry, we're still 15 days away. Plenty of time to set up a team. The 65-64 game is March 19.

Joined. We'll have to see how it goes. I haven't followed college hoops enough this season for me to much more than guess.

I'm in...though my picks will likely reflect lots of input from my mom, who is (inexplicably) a gigantic college basketball fan

Here we go again :)

Best playoff structure of any sport. I wonder if I should try my "higher seed always wins.period." strategy that got me in the 97th percentile thanks to the one and only "all 1 seeds in final four" year. :D

OK I joined, but I'm having a problem with filling out the bracket. Regardless of what region I look at, it's blank. I tried IE7 and Firefox 3.0.7. IE says "done with errors on the page" in the status bar. This is true of both this group and another group I'm in. Anybody else?
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.

It looks neater/cleaner blank. Just leave it that way. :D

Well, my knowing nothing about college basketball will give all you an edge over me in this competition. Maybe I can pull off a Rain Man.

Damn... I so behind the ball.

What site is the TR group on this year? I tried to join on Yahoo but can't log in. Are we on a different service this year?

You can't very well join up after the games have started!

Yahoo's system keeps telling me that the group is not private. It says nothing about not being able to join after the games have started.

I would have thought I could have still joined the group and made my picks for round 3 on.

Your picks for round 3 are dependent on picks from round 1.

Yes, yes they would be.

Instead of being a smart ass... Is the pick 'em still on Yahoo or not? That was my question.

They do have a bracket pick 'em that lets you start from Round 3. I don't think you can join the TR group with such a bracket though.

Lickety's the first to lose both of his finals teams. We are tied for next-to-last after two rounds.

Not bad, I only lost 2 sweet 16 teams and still have all my elite 8 teams alive. Muhuhahahaha!

If Memphis beats UConn, I'll jump right over you to reclaim first.

where did the link come from? Not something I really wrote.

edit: nvm, I see...he pasted the wrong thing.

edit2: that's assuming that Memphis beats Mizzou (and it's worse for you than for me if they don't). Go Tigers! :p yes I am fully aware of the ambiguity in that cheer

That crashing sound you heard was what was left of my brackets falling to pieces.

Thanks, Memphis!! Eat a rock!

man, I looked half-way intelligent for a while there. Now I've lost 2 of my final 4 teams, and if NC loses tonight, I'm pretty well done (of course, any time the team you picked to win it all loses, you're pretty well done).

Well, it all comes down to UNC v. Villanova. If UNC wins, The Funk wins and I come in second. If Villanova wins, Villanova's Year wins and The Funk comes in second.
