The hockey equivalent of the Eephus Pitch.
In those days spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.

Well done. I'm kind of surprised that doesn't happen more often.

That would piss me off to no end if a guy did that to me.

That took skill. That shot really made the player shine, but at the same time if the goalie was able to get his stick up and bat it out (the puck was moving slow enough), it would certainly have been the goalies moment. Either way, a move like that deserves to be on Don Cherry's Rock 'Em Sock 'Em.

I cannot watch vids at work, but I think I watched this one at home a couple nights ago.
It was from Sweden or something right? and he kinda just lobbed the puck slowly over the goalie, and was helped a bit by the crossbar?
Yeah, that was cool. Embarrasing for the goalie bigtime though! :o

I think it was that one, right?

I liked Anze Kopitar's shootout goal from a couple nights ago, shown here:

I've seen Pavel Datsyuk score on some very similar to that too...

Both.

As a goalie most times you're prepared for players to come hard to the net. Slowing down or taking something "off the puck" is like throwing a change up to a power hitter in baseball.

That's the one I linked.

Awesome goal and the goalie was almost able to bat it away.
