I found out yesterday that the company that I work for won't pay retirement medical coverage. Isn't it like 6 bucks a month up there in the G.W.N.? If it is can I get the cheap medical if I move up when I retire or do you have to be a long time resident. Is it tough on old people in the winter? I mean some old people have a hard time getting around here in Texas. On that note if you leave the country lets say to thaw for a month in the winter, are you on your own or do you have some kind of Canadian national insurance card?

I have about thirty years or so until I possibly can retire and I don't think I can depend on Medi-care.

I'm not sure about how long you have to be here before your medical insurance kicks in but I believe it is quite short (once you have officially immigrated to Canada). And you can collect your US dollar pension and live like a king in Canada. As long as you spend 6 months plus one day a year in Canada your citizenship - and your medical coverage - will be maintained. The winters can be brutal, depending upon where you live. I just got back from Vegas a couple of days ago and I must say I was pissed coming back to -20C weather in April. I really asked myself why humans would want to live here.

If you think Canada's socialized medicine scam will still be around in 30 years, you're dreaming. It's just a little over 30 years old, and has been through so many tax hikes, and worse, cutbacks, that now the socialists started trying to outlaw MRI machines for animals because they weren't socialized, and thus aren't being overused and thereby impossible to get time in. Canada is trying to catch up with its undersupply of care by sending people to the U.S. for treatment, but they seem to have decided to pay for that by inflating the Canadian dollar. That failed, and things will only get worse until they return to a just system where no one is enslaved to buy goods and services for another, and no one gets anything for free. The same thing is happening in the American Medicare/Medicaid system (for retirees and bums), but a little more slowly since it doesn't cover the entire population. Even so, it's inflated medical costs 10 times as much as the general inflation rate. Socialism = murder. Until people quit trying to get something for nothing from those who earn it, they will suffer. If the pinks in the USA ever get such a criminal idea passed, a lot of people all over the world are going to die, because we won't be selling services to outsiders any more.

Bears really are the superior species on this plant. A lot of people bad mouth Canada, but if it's good enough for Bears, it's certainly good enough for us.
