OS X: Hiding "Macintosh HD"

Fri Jun 19, 2009 9:17 pm

Hey guys,

After some thinking, I realized that I don't even need the desktop icon "Macintosh HD" and it only distracts from my pretty desktops. Is there a way to hide that thing?

From here: http://forums.macosxhints.com/archive/i ... 61187.html
Click the desktop, so that the Finder is the frontmost application. Go to the Finder menu, select Preferences, go to the General tab, uncheck Show these items on the Desktop: Hard disks.

yeah, now that there's a sidebar (since 10.3, really) you've been able to eliminate the last bastion of the classic Mac OS. *sniff*
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
