Yes, but this is a case of "You get what you pay for". Corsair's modular PSU's are top notch in design and components choices and seeing how the quality of the PSU can affect the entire rest of the system, I dont like to skimp on PSU's.
Dual transformers, flat modular cables, top of the line caps all make for a very high quality package.

620HX is $140 with a $30 MIR
So before MIR's, the difference is $40, after MIR, the difference is $30 (plus extra sales tax implications). Where did you get that "extra $100" idea from? Granted, the TX features a single 12V rail with more wattage, so it should give you more juice should you require it.

True, but the same could be said about the 620HX which, as far as I can tell, is pretty much the same internally as the M12.
