What say you great z-man? I can get it for half the cost of the pig roaster and it comes with a FLAMETHROWER! The main grill uses charcoal instead of propane, don't know your feelings on that, but it has a smaller grill for propane, a smoker unit that you can use as a grill if you'd prefer, it also has gas burners for deep frying or boiling kegs of corn on the cob and it comes with a couple height adjustable tables as well as a fire-extinguisher! I don't know about you but I'm a little smitten by it... ;)

Oh, and I'll resize the obnoxiously huge images when I get home from work (or remove them if z-man hates it)...

Lol funny you should post this, my dad and I have been fussing with putting something like this together during the winter. Char coal isn't an issue, but I don't have much practice with a smoker. It isn't so much how to do it, but it can be trickier maintaining a constant temp. If we aren't going to be ready I'll let you know, but I don't see why we can't use it.

[edit]I was thinking this without the roaster part. I simply don't do whole pigs. I could always rent one if I really wanted to. I just need some decent portable grilling space.

BTW - any links to this or more pics? I am looking for ideas and I generally like what he has done here.

That think looks clunky, hard to lug around, and slightly dangerous!

I totally want one!

I'll get a video up before the day is over... It's sitting outside the cafeteria right now waiting to cook for 2nd shift... It turned out some mean burgers and brats... *yum*

Edit: Or I'll just do it right now...

"That far out west"? Somebody fetch this boy a Google Earth download -- Michigan's not even halfway there!

I'm originally from New York City, pal. Anything that's not accessible via a metro-area subway is too far ;)

I was looking into building a smoker...then came the realization that I had no place to store it or use it...then I was onto the next ludicrous idea, speaking of ludicrous, I saw Gleek at renfest a couple weeks back.

Not that I've ever met him, but the online persona I've seen doesn't intersect with RenFest.

Online and offline are 2 entirely different people. It's almost a talk show topic, how different they are.

There is nothing odd about bringing porn and a walker to a BBQ, nothing at all.

I am not going to claim expertise in geography but, Michigan is not exactly counted as the Eastern Seaboard?

If you want a BBQ then host one in your area. :P

Fact is I bet us midwest folk are more likely to come visit yours than you ever making it to ours... ;)

I thought there was someone from Texas joining the BBQ? So that's not an excuse for Texans? :P

No, but FF is on the eastern seaboard I think. Only such a person would consider Michigan a Western state

And hey, I'm a broke Texan, Michigan is a long drive or flight :p Although I do wanna go up, just to see the great lakes.

This year's snow pattern is proof positive that Toronto, ON is not part of the Eastern Seaboard. We escaped all the big snow. :o

I was just sitting down to post something about the bbq, and here it is. If there's anything you need lemme know. Also, damn you fish!!! that tv you sold me years ago for less than a 1/10 of it's original price has lost it's HD inputs I demand a free replacement! Though, on the bright side, even if I buy a 50"+ tv it'll likely still be lighter than that CRT.

The BBQ is a ton of fun. I'll echo Ian and ask, what dates are we looking at for this shindig?
