UBuntu Virtually possible or not

Sun Nov 08, 2009 12:56 am

Hello Everyone,

I have installed the Ubuntu and working on it. I have installed as a software on Windows Xp. So partitions have been created themselves.

I want to know If I am able to run Ubuntu virtually using VMWare. I have already install VMWare and want to run Ubuntu virtually.

Does anyone know about this?

Yes, it should work in a virtual machine. Performance (especially on graphics-intensive stuff) won't be as good as if you run it natively though.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I run it on virtual box and it runs fine. I have tried 8.10, 9.04, 9.10 in both 32 and 64 bit flavors. Only problems have been with recognizing certain USB devices(webs cams and such) and with graphics-intensive stuff(gaming and HD video)
