So its getting close to Christmas and I'm going to have some extra money to spend and want to get a CPU cooler so I can OC my 920 stock at 2.66GHZ up to around 3.2GHZ, and the fact that it already runs hot enought (high 60's C when under load, 45 C Idle), and I've tried remounting over and over.

So I was looking at the Cooler Master V8 and V10. I like the look of the V10 over the V8, but there is a big difference in price between the two (the V8 is about half the price of the V10)

Now for the Questions:

-- Is the V10 much better than the V8?
-- I know what a mobo "bending" or "warping" is, but can that happen with these, cause they are a bit heavy?
-- How bad is mobo "bending" or "warping", does it happen in days, weeks, months, years?

I know there are other coolers out there, so let me know what you guys prefer and think does the best job. (I looked at some Scythe coolers a while back and liked them, but since I have a CM HAF 932, I figured I'd try and go with the style of my case.)

Price limit is $100 or less, maybe more if its thats good.

Personally I would go with either the Sunbeam, Xigmatek or the CM 212 Plus. Each of those are great performers without ridiculous price tags or looks.

The V10, while significantly larger and more complex than the V8, performs worse.

The V8, while not at the top of the lists, is still an extremely capable heatsink. I have one in my case and at ~1000 rpm, it is very, very quiet.

There are lots of other good heatsinks out there like the Thermolab BADA, Xigmatek S1283/1284, etc. But if you're set on the V8, you can't go wrong (have you looked at the CM Hyper 212+? That's even cheaper and also an excellent cooler).

If your willing to put the money out just go straight for a Thermalright Ultra 120 Rev C and buy a good Noctua fan to slap on it. You'll be set for a VERY long time.

Seems like the TRUE is not the undisputed champ any more, if the Frosty Tech site is to be believed. Even the cheaper Cooler Master Hyper 212+ seems to be doing better.

The Noctua N12P HSF is also a good choice. It got the nod at TR a while back. Here is the updated version with both (!) fans.
