Bengals WR Chris Henry dead

Wed Dec 16, 2009 9:02 pm

Read that he was chasing his wife, jumped into the back of a moving truck, fell out and was listed in critical. I've read unconfirmed postings and what not claiming he has succumb to his injuries.

EDIT: The death report was linked to both an SA Goon account on twitter and a 4chan account, no official reports of death. The rumor mill is abuzz!

Wow, that happened about 10 miles away from my place. I wonder if any criminal charges will be filed against the fiancee.

Given his past history, it's not a surprise. Still doesn't make it any less tragic.

That's too bad that he is dead at such a young age. But then again, no one is invincible. Anyone can go at any moment for any reason. But I don't worry about it. Everyone has their own assigned time to go, and I can't control it, so no point in stressing over death.

This is sports, not R&P.

Plenty of starving young people die every day in Africa, where's grief for them? Everyone seems to throw a fit everytime some rich **** dies. Who cares about them?

Let's keep the R&P in R&P so that Kevin doesn't have to yell at people here.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

totally agree.

When Henry was arrested for a fifth time following that season on an assault charge, the Bengals decided they'd had enough. At his arraignment on April 3, 2008, Municipal Court Judge Bernie Bouchard called Henry "a one-man crime wave." He was released by the Bengals the same day.

I would feel more sad about my cat dying.. and I don't have a cat.

Henry had turned his ship around. If you had a cat - I'd be out to kill it - I hate cats. If we can't grieve for our own, we've go no business grieving for Africans.

I would feel more sad about my cat dying.

I think we'd all feel worse about the death of a pet or someone close to us than we would about the death of someone we'd never met and who no impact on our lives. What's the point of restating the obvious, other than disrespecting the dead?

Chris Henry was a kid with money in his pocket and substance abuse problems. Yes, he has an unenviable record with the Law, but nobody has ever shed a drop of blood or lost a dime at his hands.

Was there any report with more content than the ones I was seeing a couple of days ago? It seems odd that someone could die by falling from a pickup truck on a residential street unless he had blunt force trauma of some sort, or hit his head on the pavement in some peculiar manner. Though the foaming at the mouth and talk of suicide could perhaps indicate something more contributed.

Thanks for the link, idchafee. Still seems odd, but I suppose he could have caught the tip of his shoe or something and gone head over, especially if he was on something.
