CD burning/file splitting.

Sun Jan 17, 2010 9:44 pm

I drive a lot at work, so I listen to audiobooks and podcasts. I cannot fast forward or rewind on the CD player in my work vehicle, so I want to burn CDs that have many small tracks. (it's really too bad cars just started coming with stereo minijack inputs)

Basically what I need is a program that can take single, 70 minute mp3 file and burn it to a CD split into 30 or so tracks many times with little or no involvement on my part. Batch processing is pretty much required, as I have like 36 CDs worth of content right now....

I have nero 8, but I am reluctant to install it because it comes with what seems like a case of extreme bloatware. If I knew it would work fast I would install it.

Audacity can do that sort of thing fairly easily as well.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

That is what I'm looking for. I would like more control over the naming scheme, but that's still a slick, simple, and fast piece of software.

Using audacity seems like using photoshop to crop a picture. It is also very slow to import files.

If you want more control, there is the pay version of that software that features the control that you want.
