I feel much better now since you mentioned that solitaire is working fine !!! how bout the DirectX10 version soliatire ?! lol
Well that's great !! now another question ... do you have an idea if graphics programs such as Photoshop/Premeire and some 3D rendering program take advantage of that 64bit ?! because this is the main reason of installing Winxp64 and still being able to play games smoothly without any problems.
thnx

Yeah. Photoshop since CS2 (and I believe recent versions of Premier also) is Large Address Aware, so it can offer more VAS under x64. Though with Photoshop's crazy homemade VMM, who knows how much good it actually does. The PS dev lead said (after XP x64 debuted) they had no immediate plans for a 64bit PS because it offered "no compelling benefits" which sounds rather bogus to me (the extra XMM registers would be a boon for filters at the very least). I suspect they're waiting on Apple to get their 64bit story straight before making the leap for both platforms simultaneously.Justice wrote:Only if the program was 64bit. I can only see them gaining any advantage if you had XP64 and 4GB or more ram currently with those programs being 32bit.

Adobe's site has kb articles about the benefits of running PS under x64, but they were written by someone who didn't have a clear understanding of the topic (or at least the distinction between virtual and physical memory) so beyond confirming PS can go past 31 bits I wouldn't put too much stock in them.
Not with the first ones, which feature Core (1) Duo, aka the Yonah. Besides OS X before Leopard is not fully 64-bit.Usacomp2k3 wrote:UberGerbil wrote:I suspect they're waiting on Apple to get their 64bit story straight before making the leap for both platforms simultaneously.
Aren't all IntelMacs 64-bit? Even the mini's?
