I would like to see this benched against the AGP variants of the Radeon x850xt, x1600, and the Geforce 6800GS.

Why buy this when you can get an X800GTO for $124.99 from Newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102002 Ack, I just bought one at $129.99...price has dropped $5. edit: one person's review said it came with 16 pipes. Mine is the same: 16 pipes. |

My boss just bought one of these in AGP version off the shelf at Circuit City:

I hope they keep a 256bit / gddr3 agp card on the market, like the 7800gs for awhile - just incase I wuss out on upgrading my gaming rig w/ its almost peppy 6600gt agp card.

Now if they could just get the prices down to the 7600GS pci-e version's range ($100-120), I could avoid having to make a massive system change.

The 7600GS is around the 6800 vanilla/x800 level. I doubt being agp would change anything. At that price though, I think it's better to buy a 6800XT which ran at about 6800 levels as well, and would cost less.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130268 then unlock the extra pipes for 6800GT levels. |

How much faster would this be than a stock Radeon 9500?
If it's around £99 I'd find it tempting, a lot cheaper than upgrading everything in my computer. I could then quite happily give the old card to my parents who are looking at getting a LCD monitor and need a DVI output on their system. It would be good to see how this card would fare as an upgrade for people with older AGP systems vs. the cards they might currently have. For example you could configure three systems - Athlon XP @ 2GHz, Pentium 4 at 3GHz and a S939 K8 at 2GHz, and check them with these new cards, and a range of classic AGP cards and whatever ATI has for offer these days. |

I wonder how this compares to my 6800? Looking at the specs, about the same although my card is unlocked.
This could also be a nice upgrade for my HTPC, although a passive cooled model would have been sweet. |
