Why don't people just buy computers? They last longer, are upgradable, online is built it practically in . I mean, all we need is someone to really start developing platform-esque games for PC, market a big name controller behind it (I use a ps1 controller +usb adapter) and BANG!- Best 'console' ever.

Not to mention they can be used for infinite other thigns... Hmm... $600 for a very limited game machine, or $1000 for an awesome-box!

" - $600 (around €600 using the usual rule of thumb)
- lower CPU specs
- lower GPU specs
- no HDMI cable
- not in store for xmas in Europe

they just can't get enough of good news now can they?"

Nope. They can't and it gets worse for them.

Looks like the PS3 WON'T run games at 1080p after all. Bad, bad Sony. Anymore 'little' details you are leaving out about the PS3?

Europe alone accounts for as many expected sales as the US, Canada and Japan combined? Or are they basically cutting out the Europe sales and reducing the total estimates for the other countries as well?

Oh nevermind, more details from Ars point out that it's all the PAL format territories including Russia, Middle East, Australasia and Africa, not just "Europe". Not a particularly well detailed article from Yahoo News, that's kind of a lot of regions to just not bother mentioning them.

I think I'll do whatever I can to buy two of these on launch. I might have to camp out waiting for a day but it'd be well worth it. I'll get someone else to help me out as I'm sure they'll only let you buy one at a time.
