The EU Commission--what a bunch of meddling boneheads...;) You know, every time Microsoft spends lots of money and time to "comply" with the nebulous, ever-changing demands of this little commission of Very Self-Important People (the EUC), the EUC is right there to tell Microsoft, "Sorry, but you haven't yet complied!" I don't think it is possible to comply with the EUC, myself, as I've been studying their "demands" on Microsoft ever since they started making them, and I still don't understand them any better than Microsoft does.

How utterly self-serving of the EUC to state that "it's up to Microsoft" to "comply" before the EUC will "allow" (how very gracious of the EUC) Microsoft to offer Vista to European customers--as Microsoft has in fact "complied" several times already but none of that compliance apparently counts for anything where the smug and self-righteous EUC is concerned. Obviously, the EUC is all about itself and could absolutely care less about European consumers and their preferences. I frankly feel sorry for how the whole of the EU must chafe under the bridle the EUC insists on imposing. It's pitiful.

First PS3, and now Vista.

Can't say either are very desireable products anyway, I guess.

In response to Microsoft's statement, the Commission says the claims about a potential delay are misleading and that "it is not up to the Commission to give Microsoft a green light before Vista is put on the market." Instead, the Commission says it's up to Microsoft to comply with EU competition rules as it was ordered to do in the infamous 2004 antitrust ruling.

Does that not require the Commission to give Microsoft a green light as only the Commission has any idea as to what complying with the European Union's competition rules actually is?
