Sometime competition leads to advancements. It is my opinion that it seems AMD is the only company out there striving to advance the industry to make things easier and better.

Awesome. Now someone needs to push for a standard power switch/power light/HDD/reset connector.

i find it funny how video cards have had this for so long, but it's taken forever for it to happen with processors, which are technically an even more critical component.

How does this fit in with the EFI?
Don't get me wrong, I think this is a fantastic idea, but if the BIOS is getting replaced with EFI then maybe it isn't worth the trouble. |

I expect Intel to come out with their verision "tooB efaS" sometime today or tomorrow.
It's about time someone came up with this since everyone don't keep a spare proc. laying around. |

good idea, but it isn't going to matter to anyone who already has a motherboard... anyway, i'm expecting this by the *end* of next year-- it isn't a trivial thing!

I'm glad AMD is pushing it on the mobo manufacturers, lord knows those stingy bastards cut costs down to the penny.

Yup, about time someone did something about this issue.
Good job, AMD! (Assuming they can actually pull it off and get the mobo makers to implement it correctly.) |

Nice! Lets hope it will be a wide standard and not only on AMD.
If there was a way to secure the VRM aswell...besides the old modular VRM :p |
