How about seeing this hit a mATX form factor with Viiv support?

I love the all-black mobos. They look sooo sweet (like my A8R32 MVP).

Still, it's basically a renamed nF5...which is basically a renamed nF4.

Come on, nVidia...lets see a completely new from-the-ground up chipset, please!

And could you, um, drop the power consumption of the chipset while you're at it?

And no, I'm not an ATI fan-boy. All told, I can't say I'm very happy with this mobo so far...

For anyone who hasn't looked in to it, check out Intel's Matrix Raid. IT's almost a good enough reason on its own to get an Intel board with a RAID southbridge, it has more impact on just about any task (short of SLI gaming, but there's always crossfire) as any other feature the nv boards might have.

Is it possible NV will finally have a decent overclocking Intel board though? If so the options of this board with its 3 PCI-E slots is pretty good.

I'm perfectly willing to discuss a topic reasonably. But when a valid point is dismissed because someone doesn't know anything about it even when given a link containing information is provided so they can learn about it...all I'm saying is at least learn about something to be able to make informed statements about it.

So I'll do a brief summary:
Matrix RAID allows multiple RAID partitions beyond what is normally possible for a given number of drives. The most popular setup is a RAID0+RAID1 setup on two disks. The small RAID0 partition is used for OS+apps and is placed on the fastest first part of the HDs. This gives the advantage of using only the fastest portion of the HDs for OS+apps, reducing seek and access times. The rest of the HDs capacity is used for a RAID1 partition for more redundancy and backups. For example: RAID0 on the first 20GB of two disks for a fast 40GB RAID0 OS+apps partition, the rest partitioned as RAID1. With more disks you can do other configurations, such as 3-disk RAID0+RAID5, or 4-disk RAID0+RAID10. It's a really fascinating and useful technology especially given the exceptional price/GB and price:performance of drives like the recent Seagates and WDs.

When I initially heard about it I didn't even bother to learn anything either because I thought RAID wasn't for me...the old 'RAID doesn't help single-user desktop use.' Then when I did read about it I realized that it is unlike any other RAID implementation, allows mixing of RAID types for speed+redundancy and does give great real-world not just benchmark performance increases.

Can't quite make it out but what's that little box right beside the rotated black ata/floppy port?

SATA port placement is nice though. Right beside the ram slots and out of the way of those ever growing video cards.
