Apple's PR are probably the dumbest persons on earth to even blame MS for the virus shipped from Apple's production site... :-)

Not to worry. If a hacker does get in, the iPod’s emergency self destruct mechanism will engage, igniting the Sony batteries within, destroying the iPod into little iBits. Thus thwarting the hacker’s evil plans and destroying the offending code.
Apparently a similar mechanism exists in many non-Sony notebooks. |

Vista should be hardier, but Apple's smart enough to come up with a better virus.

Nice misquote. The full quote from Apple:
As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it. Doesn't quite sound that Apple is only blaming MS now, does it? It is stupid of of Apple to try to poke a finger at MS over something that Apple should have caught, but if you're going to quote someone, do it right. |

Dont get me wrong I m no Mac fanatic but MS has done this themselves
way back when in 1994 with the first concept macro virus. http://www.busmanagement.com/pastissue/article.asp?art=268782&issue... [Macro viruses But the era of the boot sector virus was truly ended by the emergence of a new breed of virus. 1995 witnessed the spread of the first macro virus, which exploited vulnerabilities in early Windows operating systems and rapidly became the most prolific virus in history. It has been reported that the first widespread macro virus, WM/Concept, was actually accidentally spread when it appeared on a software compatibility testing CD sent by Microsoft to hundreds of companies in August 1995.] |

they are just wanting to be flamed. Although I love the new ipod shuffle design, this is truely unacceptable. Just for that, I would ask apple to buy me a new PC.

Windows would actually be resistant to the virus.... so long as you didn't use your iPod under an Admin account.

Apple's PR can spin this as a positive thing:
iPod! Now with FREE Trojans! Yet Another Feature Zune Doesn't Offer! |

Soon as you say MS is stupid for not taking care of the problem for them, all credit for being accountable goes out the window. Asshats indeed.

"Mistakes can happen and smart companies accept responsibility, make things right with the customer, and fix the problems. Lesser companies play the blame game."
I don't know if he either owned apple or if he just made a really, really, really deep joke... |
