This is the first version of Office I've been looking forward to since before Office 97. I was really happy with Word 6.0 and Excel 5.0, until they mucked it all up in Office 2000 and 2003 with their dynamic menus and auto-everything. I'm actually interested in the new interface for 2007, though.

I only upgraded to Office 2003 because I broke the CD of 2000 and had to write an essay that night on my new computer. Office 2007 looked like crap! Just like Vista does. This is a money sink (unless my college gives it to me for $5 again).

The interface upgrade in our tests was too dramatic for end-users. This new version even though it brings UI changes to make it easier to use, actually will be like going from Word Perfect 5.x to Word: too much change.
Not ruling it out, but Office is too critical for our company and just upgrading on a whim is not possible. Perhaps 2008. I am excited about Exchange 07, however, voicemail/e-mail integration should be sweet. |

I don't know if a boss would have a hard time containing his laughter when an IT dude comes in asking him if he should go ahead and order "Office Ultimate 2007 Extreme L33t Edition" ... Do they also have SQL Server XLT-2 SLI Gold?
