Needs a non-integrated graphics solution. If it had one, I'd be all over it. It's the perfect size for me.

Now their entire line of Intel Macs are 64bit capable. Good for Apple. Now we'll have to see how long before those early adopters with the older chips are orphaned by a 64bit OSX. I know, they won't be orphaned strictly-speaking, but there will eventually be 64bit-only features (and performance). And I know if I was (say) Adobe, and I knew there was a 64bit OSX-x86 coming in '07, I'd seriously consider making the Universal Binary Photoshop 64bit only.

I wish there was an option for the Superdrive on the 1.83GHz MB. and also the option for a 1 GB option of one stick just like the MBP would be peachy.

Just saw this: http://arstechnica.com/journals/apple.ars/2006/11/8/5893
Might not have to wait much longer for the entire line to me 64-bit. :) |

...and well behind other notebook manufacturers...
I think it is worth pointing out that those who introduced Core2 notebooks earlier did so at lower clock speeds and with lead times much longer than "1-3 days". I recall looking for HP laptops in early october, and I could find nothing over 2 GHz and the estimated ship dates were measured in weeks, not days. I bought my 2.3 GHz MacBook Pro the morning that it was announced and I had it the following Monday (6 days from order to arrival). I simply cannot find a 15.4 inch wide screen 2.3 GHz Core2 duo laptop at Dell or HP's websites, but perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. |
