I really like the looks of the DangerDen block on the BFG card.

Have you ever noticed that "tout" is one of those words you can write, but you can't say?

I was under the impression that heat pipes can be more effective than water cooling. Why are we not seeing more "stock" heat pipe designed GPU cooling methods?

If you buy a crappy watercooling kit - say some of the stuff from thermal take, you can have a leak sure, but if you buy well reviewed kits using proper hoses, using proper shaped barbs, using washers and all, you have almost no chance of a leak. I trust my water cooling system more than the capacitors that fill my mobo, and the cards that occupy it's slots.
A single 120mm reservoir is enough for a heavily overclocked power hungry CPU and GPU. Without a noisy fan. Close finned air coolers are more prone to getting clogged than a radiator. It's like hearing people complain on the dangers of electricity when they weren't used to it. #4 You're right in that you CAN look at it as a way to deal with instead of solve a problem, BUT the problem has been treated in the last few successive releases. It IS being dealt with. The 5900xt was one of the worst cards to date. The 6800U used MORE power than the 7800gtx, which was equalled in performance to the 7900gtx, while the power consumption sank like a stone. Power is being taken care of over time, and while it's possible nvidia MAY have done better powerwise with 65nm, at least we have the cards NOW. |
