Given the associations one has with "Amber Alert", I find it incredibly distasteful that it could be used in a headline. I can see the intended connection between hard-to-find components and missing children, but it is a terrible comparison to make. For those of us who have lost a child, an "Amber Alert" isn't something to be taken lightly or used out of context.

As a long time reader of the Tech Report, I honestly didn't expect this. And from Scott, a father of two, of all people. :-(
