Cant wait! Would this type of memory be usable as system memory, or is it still not fast enough at 500x the current speed? I would love the ability to turn off my PC and have it turn on instantly in the last place it was. Yes I realize this can be done writing to HDD, still would be neet if it were as fast as current system memory and not have to write to HDD. You'd need some sort of memory clear button tho if you hard-locked and had to power off. Would suck to come right back up to the same place, heh.

I'm not holding my breath. Magnetic RAM (also from IBM) has been two years away for probably ten years now.

c'mon, it's got the words "phase" and "change" in it... it HAS to be good. Last time i saw something with those two words in it it rocked and could make ur cpu run well below 0 deg F. Without even seeing anything else i can already promise you it rox! BRING ON THE PHASE-CHANGE MEMORY!

This sounds awesome!
I would love to have a solid state drive with this type of memory to stream frequently read data. Why does it need to wait until 2008 at the earliest? |
