Well the DVI output is a nice touch. HDMI would have been nice as well.

If the chipset can accelerate the decoding and encoding of media acceptably so that the weak CPU isn't an issue then that's fine - but what about 1080p output? It's absence on the spec sheet is a little worrying.

It will be interesting to see what people make out of this board, and how it compares to other options (e.g., remote server PC + wireless + decoder box (e.g., media center extenders or Apple's forthcoming iTV)).

Still, good that VIA are still doing something.

Last time I checked you needed alot more power for Bluray/HD-DVD content than this can provide. So no thx, its cheaper to get a mac mini or clones. Via seems to be digging itself deeper and deeper away.

For that price, I'd want a Mini-ITX that'd take a laptop Core Solo or Duo. Of course, I'd trust Via for graphics more than Intel. How sad is that?

So, what do you think? Kitchen PC? Perhaps "Near-kitchen-built-in-to-wall-computer-desk" PC?

Something you can look up quick news, gossip or tech talk on inbetween flipping through recipes and food.com?

Gah, I've got to stop thinking like this. I'll have more PCs than I do rooms in my appartment. :)
