Now that amd is 2 billion in debt it doesnt take all that much for intel to squuze amd profits. And as amd is shooting for a rival to centreno and all intel is VERY motivated to ensure amd is starved of cash.

I expect intel will push the pricewar up anouther notch to drive amd into a big loss while nvidia drives ati into a big loss. The combo should be rather bad.

One positive aspect I see: The $574 million net loss is a bit better than the ~$600 million net loss I had expected.

Fun Fact: With AMD shares trading below $16.40 a pop, the NEW AMD now has a smaller market cap than the old AMD had on July 21st, 2006.

Well the mythical K8L is going to have to be pretty trick with Intel set to debut its 45nm version of C2D this year.
At 45nm it gives Intel a lot of headroom to up the stock frequencies without blowing their power consumption and heat levels.
Already a C2D at 3.2ghz is blazing fast.....
