Lower he price to $499 and you have the best chip available. $599 is too much, but at $499 price/performance wise it will be better than any core 2duo ( in real apps, calm down kiddies, not everybody just plays games ).
To people wondering how it would compete with E6600 at stock 2.4 ghz. It would destroy it. Even Athlon at 2.6 and 2.8 outperforms e6600 in most 3d apps, folding and other real apps. |

Its like the "Twilight Zone" here now lol
**flashes back to 2005/06 when Intel new releases got trashed soundly every time** It's probably a really good chip however as Shin and Pro have pointed out....its too expensive and has very limited overclocking potential it would appear. At 3.0GHz I'm sure its quick, but I wouldn't like to see it try to compete with an E6600 at an easy 3.4Ghz. |

AMD got tired of getting panned for their 65nm 'paper launch', since all the OEMs are soaking them up. It's logical, really.

6 months late, at least 15% too expensive for its performance, and almost twice the power consumption - what a formidable contender that is!
Watching AMD right now is almost as pitiful as watching Intel launch its CedarMill/Presler line-up was. One can only hope their comeback will be as good as Intel's was, too. |

Outside of your bubbles there are a larger number of people who honest do not give a flipping hoot about what CPU company runs their Dell, HP whatever.
x86 market since the K6 and P2 has been going in a ebb/flow cycle on who is #1. It is Intel's turn and it is only a matter of time before AMD gets all the enthusiast attention. You know what is consist in each cycle? Average joe and business crowd do not care. They only see the entire cost of the platform from OEM guys. Although, the business guys are more interested in the cost of the usage via en mass.
