Does anyone remember when Nvidia's drivers "just plain worked" and were John Carmack's "gold standard" to develop on? Sheesh.

Some WMV's crash the entire OS (BSOD) when I play in Vista with my 8800.
Oblivion will crash when exiting the game (not a big deal.) Otherwise, performance wise I've been very pleased. |

So, is the driver doing something new, and possibly more correctly then in the past, therefore breaking some games?
Or does the driver have a bug, that they are letting people know that they will not be fixing for the foreseeable future? |

Got a 6600GT on Vista-32, not that difficult a config, and the new WHQL drivers break DualView support on my system. Clone still works, DualView worked on the 97.xx drivers, but no longer - it just ignores the second display. Makes me wonder what is actually involved in WHQL testing - presumably DualView does work for some other people.
Still waiting for custom resolutions to be added back in again. Powerstrip sucks.
