No integrated Wi-Fi = lose. My Wii has this, I thought Nintendo was the one who doesn't care about online?

No built-in WI-FI, what a shame.

fyi, most of the sound from a 360 is from the dvd drive, not fans/cpu temps so any change in cpus, while a nice addition, would not make the unit any quieter by itself.

I have to admit, a $399 Xbox 360 Premium with 120GB HD and HDMI is pretty sweet.

As for Blu-Ray and HD-DVD, I'm sticking with DVD for a long time, so I don't really care one way or the other. However, if I had to pick one or the other, I'd go with HD-DVD since it's cheaper and is already backward compatible with DVD (a Blu-Ray player that can play DVD's would need 2 lasers - 1 blue and 1 red).

Wi-Fi sounds great, but in my experience it isn't ready to replace standard CAT5 cables any time soon. A CAT 5 cable will give you a 100mbps connection that is almost 100% reliable, while Wi-Fi will give you a much slower connection (usually only a fraction of its rated speed), and typically cuts out (forcing you to reconnect) multiple times per day.

hopefully its quieter too. i can barely hear my computer, and its right beside me, but the 360 is ridiculously loud. i find it incredibly annoying. and it'd be nice if they got rid of the external power brick too

I'm hoping to have enough in my xbox fund by the time it comes out to be able to pick one up.

At least they didn't call it "extreme". Props to MS for being orginal.

I wonder if it would cost less to put the HD-DVD player in the machine instead of being an add-on component?
