Might as well just call it...Vista.

*pout* I wanted to play with Time Machine. The integrated Boot Camp doesn't mean much to me, since the 1.2 version is out for Tiger with Vista support. Spaces doesn't mean much to me, so I guess 10.4.9 plus BC 1.2 is two thirds of what I wanted.

FWIW, I certainly hope they have two different teams working on the iPhone and OS X, and find it difficult to believe one affects the other on this grand of a scale. If I'm wrong, the Mac is in deep trouble at the very same moment that it's gained so much traction with the general public.

The best thing Apple could do is offer a coupon for Leopard with computers sold after the WWDC. I'm sure allot of people are holding off computer purchases.

As for the delay, I think its great Apple isn't keeping tight lipped about it. Hopefully we get a better OS in October.

I'm kind of surprised that they gave the explanation they gave, because it creates the impression that iPhone development was not going smoothly. That actually makes me think the explanation might be true. It also makes me think that buying iPhone 1.0 might not be a good plan.

A few other thoughts:

1. With $12 billion in cash, you'd think they could afford to fully staff more than one first string development teams.

2. I certainly hope they at least show us the "secret features" at WWDC, and I hope they make the extra wait seem worthwhile. I don't see how Spaces and TimeMachine are complex enough to justify this delay.

3. I hope they don't wait until October for hardware updates. The mini, in particular, really needs a refresh (give it core2duo and 802.11n!)

Was hopeing for a Leopard 14.1/15" Macbook for uni this fall. May stilll get the (currently rumored) Macbook though.

Eyeing the D620 and waiting for the D630 though.

D6x0 getting the nood over the Macbook just by a hair right now...talk me out of it Mac fans! ;) Main requirement: <= 5.5lbs.

Apple bootcamp...can I squeeze Grub inbetween bootcamp and non-Apple oses? Does bootcamp have a hiding option like Grub? Maybe I should start a thread...

Damn, i was really looking forward to Leopard but judging by quality of the leaked developers builds that have been floating on torrents lately, i had a feeling this would have happened.

Oh well.. now, if only they'll release the iPhone in Canada sooner then later to make up to the delayed Leopard. One can only hope..
