They can come out with whatever connection standards they want, but regardless, I will be using my Samsung 225BW until at least the end of the decade.

PCI-e 2.0 should be out already! its been approved for all board makers to enjoy! whats taking so long? my dell 2007wfp already supports hdcp, why would i need another port?

I've only seen one board that has HDMI and a handful that have DVI. Considering integrated graphics aren't powerful enough to saturate even a single-link DVI connection, I highly doubt we'll see many (if any) motherboards with DisplayPort.
