Don't fall for the hype.

Just remember how the R600 and Cell turn out. FLOPs is a completely meaningless way to accurately predict real-world performance.

I remember when the CPU's were racing towards 1GHz, I was thinking that when they reached such speeds incredible things would be possible, but alas..
I'm guessing you will have choppy 18FPS in games out by the time this GPU arrives - if alone because the ineptitude of gamecoders is outpacing GPU development.

Again it just shows the pace of performance increases is going to outstrip SLI. Buy one get one (much) later, well, the next gen will be almost twice as fast while your identical card will be EOLed.

Ready for Christmas and this year is so fast!
It's May already - I wonder if I should wait (I won't be upgrading for at least 7 weeks, maybe 12)

Wouldn't it be nice if they gave the consumers a few months down-time, to actually be satisfied with what they currently own, instead of constantly touting just how amazing their next product is going to be in X months time?

Sounds good to me! The 7950GX2 is still doing the job, and by this winter, either GeForce 9800 will be out and kicking butt, or the 8800 series will have stable drivers! (Probably)

"Counting similarly"? 518 and 345 are pretty different numbers and it's not stated which the 475 is comparing too.
I'm guessing that it's the 518, but that's a pretty ambiguous statement.
