Without naming names this investigation is completely useless.
I hate it when articles do that. |

GG TR. Of all the hardware/enthusiast sites out there today, you're the only one I recommend.

Bigger sites aren't going to put their reputation on the line for a random company. I can see smaller sites falling for this but bigger sites would simply have more exclusive "contracts" with the bigger companies.
That isn't to say all of the bigger review sites sell out but you can't be all that surprised by the results given their approach. |

don't give Adam a raise or bonus because he did the right thing, do it because he said in such a way as to be publishable.

HAHA... this is great. Good to know that my efforts to basically use this site as my sole benching site aren't wasted or in vein! Good job TR! I love how TR was the only one to get named in the article for being completely awesome! GOOD JOB!
Also... i have to agree with flybywire (#9) ... booze and women probably would have worked better. ;) |

At first I was pissed because they didn't name names. But after sleeping on it, I think they did the right thing.
They are spreading the word to 'Look out for BS hardware sites. They're out there!" If they named names they would have been sued into oblivion. Any self-respecting gerbil should realize when a site is regurgitating marketing garbage or truly putting the component through an unbiased workout. End of story. |

This is why I take all reviews (hardware, software, games, etc.) very lightly. I tend to use my own judgement even if it involves having to return a product. At times they are useful but personal experience works a lot better for me.
And there always seems to be a person who just joined a forum who has nothing but positive things to say about a product no matter what. I've always found that to be fishy. |

Give Adam Eiberger a raise, some extra days off, whatever. He's earned it. Or at least post a flattering picture. Like morphine said, it's nice to know that our trust in TR is justified.

Good Job Adam.
Adam was the only one SMART enough to pay DT some payola to get his quote included in the article saying TR doesn't use payola. :) Adam the evil mad genius FTP!!!!11 (For the Payola) (I kid! I kid. Please don't nuke my comment or mod staus. :) All this did is tell us long time followers what we already knew. For Adam and TR to be singled out in the story like that is awsome. Adam, Scott & TR's intergrity FTW!!!111 |

Take a good look at soundcard reviews here and you might think otherwise.
Editors choice for X-FI?
Being how there are so many issues with this card/drivers, I don't see how it could have possibly recieved a rating better than 30/100.
Creative labs needs to be bashed by a trustworthy review site so bad that they'll HAVE to start making better products/drivers.
But as long as reviewers suck up to the corporations, there will never be hope for improvement.
(since CL certainly doesn't listen to their customers.)
